Susty Talk: Why Glastonbury 2016 was the best ever

I’m a regular voice on Tom Idle’s awesome Better Business Show. Each week, we discuss the goings on in sustainable business.

Aside from Adele’s sweet melodies Sunday night – oh and Bastille trading lyrics for “Pompeii” from “And the walls kept tumbling down/ In the city that we love” to “And the pound kept tumbling down/On the weekend that we love” to reflect  – Glastonbury festival was the most susty ever. Why? Well, they’re turning festi-goer sweats into power for the Pyramid stage, the showers are run on solar power (was there any sun this weekend?) and 8 other reasons.

Meanwhile, Ludovico Einaudi’s latest gig was pretty quiet (and chilly), what with him getting his piano skillz out on a floating platform in the artic ocean, and we check out Block’hood – the game designing our cities of the future. Plus, Unilever is top of the charts again – err, at least in the 2016 Sustainability Leaders Survey. Patagonia, followed by Interface, IKEA and Tesla, also make the green crew, and the susty experts are really diggin’ it when sustainability strategy becomes total besties with internal culture and values.

Jump to the end for our chinwag.  Plus, what’s going on with super-cool Fairphone? Tune in to the rest of the show to find out.

Happy listening 🙂
